We have been getting ready to receive presents for Christmas this year. (That’s why we are not working!)

That was a joke by the way.

On the bright side, we are working hard through the holidays to bring you a new site which should be explosive to say the least. The new site will help bring traffic to all our wiki sites and yours too. We will keep you updated as we will be launching right after Christmas! :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (go kiss someone)

New Feature - Vote on pages from 1 cent to a Dollar!

We have added a new feature where you can vote each page with quarters. The new rating system lets you vote regardless of whether you are registered or not, unlike the old voting system. The new voting system is based on IP address, so you can only vote once from one IP address. If you want to top the Most Popular Votes List, make sure to tell all your friends to give your pages 5 quarters each.

You can have fun giving quarters to different pages by stumbling through some of the pages on the Quarter Wiki.

Wow, we’ve first started seeing some Google search results for pages that show up on the first page.

Here’s the two for today:

Diet Tips Page - #3 for “Diet Tips Wiki”

Stop Smoking Page -#7 for “Smoking and Cravings”

The funny page is that the Diet Tips Page has no content on it yet. (If there was some content, it’d probably rank first)
We put up some dummy content for the page and let’s see what happens.

Wow, it seems like Google is secretly working on a new Wikipedia-like user edited system called, Knols Project. I just found out about this and it does validate the fact that “WE” might be on the right track here.

We will be doing everything we can to implement features on the Knols Project onto the Quarter Wiki before their launch.

Knols Project - Google’s new Wikipedia

Knols will include strong community tools. People will be able to submit comments, questions, edits, additional content, and so on. Anyone will be able to rate a knol or write a review of it. Knols will also include references and links to additional information. At the discretion of the author, a knol may include ads. If an author chooses to include ads, Google will provide the author with substantial revenue share from the proceeds of those ads.

Once testing is completed, participation in knols will be completely open, and we cannot expect that all of them will be of high quality. Our job in Search Quality will be to rank the knols appropriately when they appear in Google search results. We are quite experienced with ranking web pages, and we feel confident that we will be up to the challenge. We are very excited by the potential to substantially increase the dissemination of knowledge.

We do not want to build a walled garden of content; we want to disseminate it as widely as possible. Google will not ask for any exclusivity on any of this content and will make that content available to any other search engine.

As always, a picture is worth a thousands words, so an example of a knol is below (click on the image twice to see the page in full). The main content is real, and we encourage you to read it (you may sleep better afterwards!), but most of the meta-data — like reviews, ratings, and comments — are not real, because, of course, this has not been in the public eye as yet. Again, this is a preliminary version.

Ooops, it looks like we had a bug in our system. We’ve actually sold 678 pages so far. Sorry for the confusion. We’ve fixed the error and if anyone’s page is missing from the Recently Sold Pages, please let us know and we will add your pages. You can e-mail us at support [at] quarterwiki.com.

Wow, we sold lots of pages today. We want to thank every page owner of investing in the new paid online Encyclopedia.

We will have a contest starting later this week. Basically whoever has the best page of the week will be featured on the homepage for a week.

We will pick a random page to feature on the homepage later this week, all you have to do is put great content and whoever we think has greatest content and design on their page, will win the very first contest. (Yes, I guess the contest starts now then.)

We are also thinking about giving out some prizes. If you want to sponsor us, you will also get featured on the homepage as “sponsored by”. We can also get you 5 blog posts for sponsoring our events on Zedomax.com, Bedzine.com, Keetsa.com, Sleepzine.com, and Mattresszine.com. The blog posts are worth over $500 if you bought them so you will get your money’s worth for sponsoring us. (FYI for SEO experts, all the blog posts we are offering are PR4 and PR5s!)

Here’s a couple pages we liked:

Wwe Wrestling

John Chow - This one’s really good because it’s nicely formatted.

How To Make Money Online

P.S. Make sure to have content on your pages and submit them to social bookmarking sites if you want your pages indexed and ranked high on Google!

Best Regards,

The Quarter Wiki Team - In Wiki We Trust - Yeah right!

We have been working around the clock to bring you the best in paidwikis.

Soon, we will have this blog updated and re-designed.

In the meanwhile, we have some great news from our older brother wiki, One Buck Wiki.

A lot of pages with content have been showing up #2 or #3 on Google search terms.

In order for this to happen, you simply have to put great content on your pages and be ranked right next to Wikipedia whenever someone types, “something wiki”.

The reason? Wikipedia has no competition other than us paid wikis.

Once you rank for on the first page on Google for such a keyword, you can even sell your pages for thousands of dollars to SEO companies or other website owners looking for that search term.

Follow these guidelines to raise the value of your pages:

1. Put great content.

2. Put definition of the keyword of your page. Meaning if you have Bad Debt page, explain what Bad Debt is briefly before advertising your website or whatnot.

3. Submit to social bookmarking systems. Make use of the buttons at the bottom of your page.

4. If you have no content, put something. Otherwise, Google will simply penalize you for having no content at the least.

Clinton Quarters

Everyday, we will try to bring some humor with something that’s related with a Quarter. Today’s funny quarter is the “Clinton Sexy Quarter”. (This post may not be appropriate for people under 18 but don’t shoot us…)

You can find all kinds of hilarious lookin’ quarters here.

Many people enjoy collecting the new state quarters that are being released. Avoid the ordinary and collect our fun parody quarters. These are made from real US quarters, so they have a similar look and feel, but with a very naughty twist. Collect them all, and share them with friends.

parody quarters

Wow, I just had to post this while browsin’ through BoingBoing 4AM in the mornin’ Maybe we can get this guy to design our coins for real instead of just Photoshoppin’ it. :p

Coin designer Daniel Carr mints small private runs of “fantasy currency” (the Amero is the notional currency of the equally notional Union of North America) and “parody quarters” (a quarter depicting Daniel Carr in cool shades, an East Virginia quarter bearing the legend, “Tell WV to get off my back,” the Oregon “recycling” quarter, the “Keep away from Indianapolis” quarter”, etc).

My goal with these coins is not to endorse a Union of North America or a common “Amero” currency. I fully support the United States Constitution, and I would not welcome (in any form) a diminishment of its provisions. I expect that these coins will help make more people aware of the issue and the possible ramifications. I leave it up to others to decide if they are in favor of, or against a North American Union. And I encourage citizens to voice their approval or disapproval of government plans that impact them.
